Perfect hard boiled eggs

VEGETARIAN / GLUTEN-FREE / SERVES: ~ / COST PER SERVING: <$1/egg

INGREDIENTS

1 organic egg

pinch of salt

pinch of smoked paprika

INSTRUCTIONS

Takes less than 15 minutes unless you’re a barbarian and like your eggs overcooked.

Bring pot of water to a rolling boil ensuring there will be at least 1 inch of water covering eggs. Gently lower eggs into water and cook for desired doneness. Promptly remove and rinse in cold water.

Crack, peel, and halve. Sprinkle with salt and paprika.

While the options pictured above are on the whole minute, I think precisely 7.5 minutes is in fact the perfect hard-boiled egg. To avoid having your eggs crack due to intense temperature changes, let the eggs come to room temperature before boiling. If you want to experiment, draw the number of minutes on each egg in a permanent marker.
